Tidbits from an abnormal mother in a normal world

Tied & Beaten….

Filed under: Toy Review, Try Me Out Tuesdays — Theresa at 10:04 am on Wednesday, August 27, 2008

… or call it a toy review! Yep it’s been a few weeks since I’ve done one and this time I have a double!

So the other day my dear Shawn finally decided to it was time to get a little kinky. Now we all know how totally nilla he is, but this time he realized I NEED what I need and he was going to give it to me. It wasn’t much but for him it was a HUGE step.

In all honesty I wasn’t expecting it but then I found myself wrapped up in Japanese Restraint Kit. First off, the blindfold is worthless. I didn’t like it at all. Too stiff and the straps were just huge. That basically got tossed to the side and I’ll never use it again. But now the rope restraints are very nifty. Extremely soft to the touch, easy to use and down right comfortable. No this isn’t the clothes yard line outside kind of rope, its NIOCE. We looped it through the iron headboard and BAM instant restraint. With kids in the house, I like how quickly I can slide out of them on my own .. yanno.. JUST in case. But once in them I forgot I could and basically was captive to what ever he wanted to do.

Then just for giggles, he decided I need to be spanked and not just on my bottom. Oh no. He was thinking.. EVERYWHERE. The Leather and Fleece Paddle made its debut as well. Talk about kink overload for me. He is never this outgoing or anything but man he had game that day.

The Leather and Fleece Paddle is a top notch addition to my toy chest. I simply LOVE this item. It is durable, strong and yet small enough that it JUST fits into my toybox for hiding. The leather side gives a nice sting to flesh and fleece side does send a good jolt through the body but without the slap of leather.

Quite frankly I was surprised at how nicely the Leather and Fleece Paddle worked! It was just the right amount of slap and kiss. Shawn was very comfortable using it which was the other big bonus.

All in all, I love both the Japanese Restraint Kit and Leather and Fleece Paddle. They are wonderful toys that stick close to my bed. They have seen repeat preformances since their debuts in our bedroom.

Speaking of toys, I must have lost my report on the Flexi Felix! I could just slap myself for that. Sooooooooooooo expect a another Toy Review this week from me regarding the Flexi Felix.

As always, don’t forget to check out all the GREAT stuff at VibeReview. Great toys at fabulous prices. The coupon I mentioned previously STILL WORKS for a nice discount!

Passing The Time

I’ve spent a great deal of time off the pc, in case you didn’t notice. I’ve been happily stitching the last few days and making beautiful progress on M-Designs “Sunny Summer”. I’m happy with the pattern and content to stitch on it daily.

I will be doing a rotation with another Breast Cancer Mandala (courtesy of Ink Circles) to work on to donate to the West Michigan Cancer Center in Kalamazoo. I’d like to do other colors for other forms of cancer to stitch and donate as well. If anyone has a site that shows the different colors of cancer ribbons, I’d appreciate it.

I got my threads from Carries Creations recently. I love her use of color. She is fearless in her dyes and finds beautiful color combinations.

Just in case it doesn’t show, I’m going to start adding some cross stitch related links. I’ve happily re embraced my stitching. I spent a handful of hours with Deb and she has found me tons of beautiful freebies (free patterns) and I’ve been on a downloading frenzy. I’m considering a trip to Stitching Bits & Bobs soon to finally see the store front and pick through all her goods. I told Shawn I’d like to go up for my birthday and see what kinds of new scissors I can find. (My lil gold stork scissors are dying fast)

For those that wanted to see a review this week, sorry. I’m not feeling so hot today and not going to do the review today. Expect it tomorrow. I’m trying to decide which item to review. I’m clueless and that doesn’t help much but I will get it done tomorrow and share it with you all.

For the time being, I am liking being distanced from the computer. I’m reconnecting with the most important person, myself. I have finding the small things inside myself that I forgot I liked so much and discovering old things that brought me joy.

Time to get around, feed animals and Logan and then settle in to watch some tv and stitch. I may scan my work and show it off later. :)

Royal Princess

Heather at VibeReview is my personal shopper. Yep she is. I created my Wish List and she just shops from it to send me goodies. Well she sent me the Royal Princess. Dig this…

The Royal Princess is pretty darn nifty. How many vibes do you own that have 7 settings?

Firstly, don’t let the smaller shaft fool you. The Royal Princess packs a powerful punch. It is smaller then anything else I’ve ever owned. I was skeptical at first because I like some girth to my toys. The slim design is fantastic. The “bulb” just after the head is the key to my satisfaction.

I settled in to give the Royal Princess a try. The curved head is a nice treat and the smiley face on the head let me know that this was going to be fun. Before I even turned the Royal Princess on, I gave it a few strokes to see how well it hit my g-spot. O M G. Few toys hit it right or with the right feel but this one certainly did.

Another totally unexpected bonus to this toy, the PUSH BUTTON!! Gone are the twisting ends on a vibe, the Royal Princess gives you the ease you need! Push a button and select a setting. I worked my way through the various settings, giving each a few moments to see how they felt.

You have your basic 3 speeds of vibration. Standard. No surprises there. But then there was the pulsing. The 4 remaining settings were different pulses! I found the one that truly hit home (and tickled my g spot nicely) and let it take over. I forgot all else and rode the waves of fun home. OH HELL YEAH! Between the g-spot curve and the pulsing, I was flying high in no time and secretly praising the Royal Princess in my head.

The slim design is ease to use and curved head hits my spot just perfectly. The push button for the settings made use simple and quick. The Royal Princess took no time in going from just a toy to resting in my toybox.

Head over to VibeReview and check out all the great toys and accessories they have. Oh and my birthday is in 44 days, so if you’re not sure what to get me, shop my Wish List. Not that I’m hinting or anything. *GRINS*

Japanese Ball Gag

Filed under: Try Me Out Tuesdays — Theresa at 10:52 am on Tuesday, July 29, 2008

I was intrigued by this from the word go, sadly my desire to reuse this toy has waned.

The Japanese Ball Gag is NOT a toy for beginners. Please if you’ve never used a ballgag before, don’t start with this one.  Try Beginner Ball Gag, which I wish I had done. I was aching to try this first but I’m glad now that I waited.

The ball is very large, at least for a beginner. Even for a big mouth like me, this ball is too much. I can hold it in my mouth but its too big and causes major discomfort. I also have TMJ. Finding just the right ballgag is essential for me. This one is ok for short time periods but if I were to wear it for a prolonged period of time, I would be in serious pain.

The nylon cord is not as soft as I had hoped. Its coarse and rough. I didn’t like the feel of it on my face at all. I will say this though, being on nylon makes washing it to keep animal hair, dust and the like off it very easy. Considering I have long hair, 2 cats, 2 dogs, keeping it clean was a snap.

The clasp is ok but I have long hair and unless I had my hair totally bound up, I managed to snag enough hair to make it painful. Um ouch. Not to mention, the clasp on mine was especially tight, I caught my fingers it in a few times too. Again, ouch.

The plastic slider to adjust the tightness is horrible. It rested right on my cheek. One movement and I could feel the plastic digging into my face. I ended up with a long scratch at one point and had to explain it that my puppy caught me in the face. It wasn’t easy to slide it along the nylon cord either to make the Japanese Ball Gag tighter. I never quite found the right place for how tight I needed it.

The Japanese Ball Gag was too easy for me to pop out of my mouth. One thrust of my long tongue and POP it was resting around my neck. Bound and tied, I could still just stick my tongue out and it was history. It was extremely frustrating.

All in all the only major bonus to this Japanese Ball Gag is how easy it is to keep clean. Run it under water and you’re all set. Otherwise I will be retiring the Japanese Ball Gag permanently. I wasn’t impressed nor will I continue to use it.

Don’t let my review discourage you! Join everyone over at VibeReview.com and see what else they have to offer. Check out the Beginner Ball Gag and watch this space for a comparison review on the two! It’s where all the hottest toys are at reasonable prices.

Still Counting (Edited)

Grandma Fran

9 years and some days it still feels like yesterday.

I miss you still. You were like a mother to me.

I love you.

************

Monday July 26 11am

So today is another day. I’m still hurting. I’ve been in this “hurting” stage for a couple of weeks. I’ve not been my normal self at all and I know it. I’m not the same this time of year. I struggle more now then I do around her birthday or the holidays.

I think its because I was there. I held her as she let go and I was the one that took care of her. It took its emotional toll on me years ago and I still live with the aftermath, some days (and years) are just rougher then others.

I’m ok today though. Really. I stitched last night for the first time in forever. I made some serious progress on the piece I’ve been working on for Lauren. Finally I think I may finish it for Christmas, framed and everything.

So here I sit, semi wallowing in my misery and missing her. But deep down, I know I’m ok. I have the love of a good man, my wonderful children, a couple of devoted friends and the dreams of what I want and long to be. One day, July 27 won’t hurt so much and I’ll be able to just cope with the emotions and not cry.

My rock through all this…. One day I will have it all.
